Mickey Mouse

Jack is showing off the Mickey Mouse we bought him (at the airport, 5 min before we boarded the plane) in Florida. FYI - You should really do your "shopping" prior to entering the airport. That bad boy cost $15. WalMart (I guarantee) sells it for $3.

Good Ol' Walt Disney…gets you at every turn… If you want to have heart palpitations - just check out the price of Disney tickets. For real. My kids need to make a decision - a semester of college (when they're 18) or a trip to Disney (when they're 5). Choose wisely, children.

PS: Don't you love Cooper pouting in the background?

Cooper (murmuring under his breath): "Why did they bring a Mickey for the kid? Where is MY Mickey? No one cares about Cooper. I hate everyone."

Cold…again

Here is some randomness from my iPhone...

Jack and Josie looking at our (frozen) pool and wondering why we can only use it 3 months out of the year. Great question, kids. Indiana weather is terrible. (I seriously almost froze to death at recess today.)

Jack must know March Madness is approaching…because he's been really into basketball. He thought it was HILARIOUS when Daddy dunked him. Oladipo style.

And regardless of whether the kitchen is REAL or PLAY - It's still Josie's favorite place to be.

Miami (Part 2)

Part Two of our trip was visiting some of our FAVORITE people - Jeff & Jaime Moses (and their son, Cameron). We call them "the Mosi" and they were our buddies when we lived in Bloomington. It has been TWO years and we finally met Cameron. Finally.

Tyson was missing Jack, so Cameron let him fly him all over the house like Superman. Win, win.

 Isn't he the cutest?? I think he and Jack would have a blast together!

And on a final note, I'm am officially NOT FRIENDS with Mother Nature. It's snowing right now. Like HUGE flakes of snow. I'm so over you, Winter. Move along.

Miami (Part 1)

Tyson and I were down in the sunshine last weekend! We had a wedding in Miami and it was AMAZING! The weather was gorgeous (especially for a couple of Hoosiers, hungry for warmth). We stayed with my parents on Thursday night and then headed off to Key Biscayne on Friday.

It was GREAT to see so many of my best friends from DePauw! We always have a great time together!

 There was a little Harlem Shake action… Which lead to the video below.

Did you see us? We were the awkward white people in the sea of Brazilians. Plenty of adult beverages were consumed prior to filming that…(FYI)

We stayed downtown Miami - and heard about every language imaginable. The best line came from our cab driver:

Driver: You know why I love Miami?

Tyson: No, why???

Driver: Because it's so close to the United States.

He was Columbian and very nice.

If the kids are home - there is usually a sea of toys around. I think this is just the reality of children. We do make them help clean up before we do something else. Jack is a pretty good cleaner! (thanks, daycare)

But then again, she has to share her toys with her brother. Who stole her purse and created his own MURSE! (Man Purse) Like the sunglasses he packed? There is also a hairdryer in there...

And he's OFF. Murse safely hanging from his handlebars. Little sister giving up her fight to reclaim her property. One happy 3 year old.

Snow Days and Pancakes

We got about 10 inches of Snow on Tuesday night - so my school was cancelled. We woke up and made some pancakes to celebrate a morning at home. No rush, no tears…just pancakes.

(Like Jack's new AMISH haircut? It was $5. Enough said.) Jack was such a great helper mixing the batter. He also helped make a nice mess on the floor.

Josie doesn't like waiting for food to cook. She helped herself to some cereal. Why the ziplocs? She likes eat dry cereal out of baggies (bad habit from rushed mornings). Her new thing is handing me a box of cereal and a ziploc bag.

 When she finally got her pancakes - she was pretty excited! But she still held on tight to her baggie of cereal.

Two Hour delay for me today. (no complaints)

Another Lazy Sunday

We enjoyed another quiet weekend at home. Next weekend Tyson and I will be in SUNNY Florida for a friend's wedding, so we tried to get in as much "fun" with the kids as we could this weekend.

We have seen SUCH a change in Jack over the past few weeks. He understands consequences and has been listening SO much better. Parents suffering through the "terrible twos/threes" - good news: It does get better! And when it does, it becomes a lot more fun!

We can go out in public again! Well, until Josie decides to start acting like a toddler...

Braving the Cold

One of the reasons I get so sick of winter is because I feel like we are prisoners in our home. Today was a fairly nice day (as in - it wasn't sleeting or spitting snow), so Jack and I decided to take the pups for a walk. Jack rode his bike (a LONG way, actually).

Like how he's wearing gloves that are too big? Whatever. I can't be bothered to keep track of his gloves all winter. 

The pups were SUPER pumped to get out and sniff the 'hood. Oh, and poop in other people's yards. (and, yes, I cleaned it up.)

Dr. Seuss…Baseball & Josie

Unless you're an elementary teacher - you probably wouldn't know this…but TODAY is Dr. Seuss' 109th birthday. Jack celebrated by wearing his Cat in the Hat shirt. Monday we're taking some "Green Eggs & Ham" into his school… It's actually just green vanilla pudding with Nilla wafers.

In other VERY important news - Spring Training is underway in FL and AZ. That means Jack is gearing up for yet another baseball season. We will miss the Tigers in Spring Training by ONE week. Bummer.

 And here is Jos. She's not doing anything but being awesome.
