Mud Run

Last Sunday Jack and Tyson ran in a 100 yard dash obstacle course. It ended with a run through the mud.
They got to run with our old neighbors Sydney and Jessica. Jack wasn't a huge fan of the mud, but Syd down right HATED it.

Jack showed off his big muscles after the race.
Our friends Nick & Christian Festa ran, too. Since Christa and I have recently had babies & couldn't run this year, we have dibs on next year!

It's Syd!

Wednesday we skipped playgroup to meet up with our old neighbors, the Nanna girls. Jack and Sydney were buddies back in Royal Oak. They ruled West Street. Now neither of them live on West Street.

You may remember Sydney from her FULL head of hair from birth. Now, as a 4 year old, she still has beautiful hair! It is safe to say that Josie had some serious hair envy.

It was fun meeting up! Hope we can see more of the Nannas now that we are back in the Mitten.

Jack, Josephine, and Sydney Josephine

Jack had a play date with Syndey yesterday. Maybe it was too soon to expect him to share his new presents from Santa. I'll be honest, it wasn't his best showing...
Lunch put him in a better mood. Apparently toddlers have something with doing the wave at the table...it was HILARIOUS to all of the 2 years olds in the room.
See - Sydney was doing it too. Josie didn't get the "inside joke."  Jack told her she would understand when she was TWO.
A very smiley Sydney Josephine.  She held "baby Josie" like a champ.  We are sad to be moving away from this little girl. She is cute and funny...but she will always be "Jack's first neighbor."

Date with Syd

IMPORTANT: Justina Suh is NOT the name of the baby. It was a joke. Sorry. Justina is a nice name, but it is not in the running to be Baby Becker's name. Tyson's Aunt Kim has suggested Kimshirnan. It's under consideration.

Our neighbors, Jessica and Mike, took Jack to a Holiday Parade on Saturday. I was at the Craft Show and Tyson was finishing up some work.  Jessica offered to take Jack along so he wouldn't miss out on seeing Santa! Rumor has it - the Monster Truck was a Jack favorite. Trucks & buses are a new found LOVE.

Last night Syd came over for a dinner date.

The tots dined on Organic Popcorn Chicken, whole wheat pretzels, and Honeycrisp apples. Juice was the drink of choice.  And for dessert - pudding & a swedish fish. Yum!
There was a Toddler Dance Party after dinner. Our thanks to Katy Perry & Fergie for their amazing songs. These kids love to groove to their jams!
Not sure what this was all about, but it was really funny (according to them).  They also played basketball, had a Scream-Off, and pretended the dogs' bed was a trampoline. I can't speak for Syd, but Jack was dead tired!

Dinner for Two

Jack had a dinner date with Sydney on Monday night. They dined on all beef hotdogs, Trader Joe's apple/carrot crushers, cheese crackers, and fine wine... Okay, sippy cups of juice. Bless Jessica for taking on two kiddos, especially so close to bedtime!
Don't tell Sydney's Daddy...Jack tried to sneak a cuddle on the lazy boy. Sydney wanted NO part of it.
She was totally giving him the cold shoulder. "Don't get fresh with me, Jack!"
Dear Santa,
Jack has embraced his inner chef. He loves playing with kitchens and he can whip up a pretty mean bowl of (fake) soup! I was shocked at how much it held his attention! I'm sold!

Sydney-Roo is TWO!

Yesterday was a special day in our neighborhood. Sydney turned TWO! Jack celebrated with her at "school" and then was her birthday dinner date at Bagger Dave's. There was coloring, a choo-choo, and a toddler dance party! After dinner we stopped by her house for a birthday cupcake (or two)...but bedtime crept up and Jack as on the brink of meltdown. No one likes to ruin a pretty girl's birthday - so we left early. But it was a fun celebration!
She blew the candle out all by herself!
Dear 16 year old Jack -
Remember when you hijacked Sydney's pink car? No? Well, I do. And I have the pictures to prove it.
Taking a spin on Syd's pink car. As you can see - the Birthday Girl wasn't pleased with him.  Fortunately, this pink car was NOT a birthday gift. Otherwise, there may have been less "stink-eye" and more "right hook!" Don't mess with her, son...her Daddy's a cop!
