Grandparents

Grandparents are important people in a child's life! I know I have been fortunate to have 3 of my grandparents in my life for 28 years (my Grandma Walker passed away when I was 18). Tyson and I have agreed that whenever we are "home" (in either Fort Wayne or Warsaw) we will always make an effort to see both sets of grandparents during our visit. Jack is already growing up so fast - we don't want them to miss anything.

Today we made a quick trip over to see Grandpa Denny and Grandma Nancy. While we were there - Becky and Chloe stopped by too! It was so great to see all of them! Can't wait to see you again really soon!!

Hanging out with his Grandpa Becker. Look at Jack hold his head up!
Napping on his Grandma Nancy. Zzzzzzzzzzz
Jack met his Great-Aunt Becky...
And his second cousin, Chloe!

Happy 3rd Berf-day, Hank!

Hank staring at "his" hottie doggies. He stared at them for hours.
Me and the Birthday Boy!
Grandpa Jerry, Jack, and Tucker
Hanky's cake. He wrote his name and age on it.

Thanks Joe, Gina, and Hank for a really fun party (except when Hank & Coop had a brief "argument") - we loved celebrating with you!

Shots of Jack

Chillin' with Uncle Jon - lying on the couch, watching the Olympics
And this is what happens when you forget to bring the bathtub to Grandma & Grandpa's house. We lined the side-sink with towels...it wasn't his favorite bath to date, but it got him clean!

Warsaw Day 2

Today Jack met Mrs. Beehler and his birthday buddy (almost) - Katie Beehler Maile. We missed Max - since he was at class, but we will see him soon (we hope).
Best friends since birth.
After a visit with the Beehlers we stopped by Harvuot's to see Jim, Kathy, and Jeanette (Princess too). We missed Ann...but really enjoyed introducing Jack to our life-long friends.
Finally, we had a nice family lunch at Mad Anthony's. Tonight is Hanky's birthday party - so there will be more fun to share.

Warsaw Day 1

Welcome to Warsaw, Little Man.
Our first stop was the high school - to drop pizzas off to Grandma Shirlee. It was SO weird to take my baby into my high school.
Grandma couldn't wait to show Jack off to everyone...literally, every single person that came by had to meet him. He slept through it.
Next, we had lunch with Grandpa, Aunt Karley, Uncle Joe, and Aunt Gina at MY favorite lunch spot - Cerulean's!
And finally, we stopped by Grandpa's office to meet Geriann, Michelle, and Diane. Jack even helped his grandpa sell some insurance. He'll expect his commission check in the mail...

We'll see what the rest of the weekend has in store for him.

SURPRISE!

Today Brooke and I went shopping at Ikea. Since I was already on the west side of Detroit (and all packed up) I decided to drive to Warsaw a day early to surprise my mom. I think it was a success - but you can see for yourself.

Shopping at Ikea with our buddies.

I remember...

When going back to Warsaw for the weekend required a carry-on type suitcase and the dogs. Wow. (The Pack and Play & Stroller are also making the trip)

If I'm being 100% honest - I don't bring any bowling skills to the table. I once legitimately bowled a 9 (way worse than President Obama's 37!). And my Senior year at DePauw thought it was a good idea to take Bowling - like as a class. Bad idea! I HAD to consume a few beers before my final, just so I could earn a B+. No joke, had I been sober...I would have earned a C or worse. Can you imagine? Bowling killing your GPA?!?!

Sorry, Jack. Unless the Becker's have some serious bowling skills (that I'm not aware of) you may need to consider an alternative career path.

Namaste

Brooke talked me into attending Baby & Me Yoga today and I'm SO glad we went! It was fun, relaxing, and surprisingly, a good workout. Jack even enjoyed it! He did some baby yoga and found that he likes being held on his belly.
At the end, we gave our babies a massage, which put Jack to sleep! I guess he was feeling very "centered".
He made a new friend named Miles...and of course, saw his girlfriend, Molly!

Welcome to this World

Happy 6 Weeks of life, Jack!

The Mosi are coming!

Last night we found out that our good friends Jeff & Jaime Moses are coming to see us! They were the first people to find out Jack was on his way, since we were vacationing with them in June. We can't wait to see them...and Jack can't wait to meet the Mosi!

Shot of Jack

Our neighbor, Sydney, came over today for a few hours while her daddy went to a meeting. As you can see - Jack looks angry in this picture. It's because he thinks Syd stole all his hair.

Jeans

I am happy to report that I squeezed myself into TWO pairs of my pre-pregnancy jeans today! Yeeeesssss! I was excited...until I went to Target and saw they have bathing suits out already. What?!? Seriously...the majority of the country is covered in snow and it's 50 degrees in Florida - PUT THOSE THINGS AWAY!

In other news, Tyson and I had a very nice "Date Night" tonight. Brooke and Mikkel watched Jack (sleep) while we were out. I didn't leave enough food for him and they had to endure some screaming toward the end. (sorry!) Tyson and I really enjoyed a nice meal (with wine), a good conversation (non-baby related), and a delicious piece of cheesecake to top it off! THANK YOU, Jakobsen's!!

Shot of Jack

Jack went with me to get an oil change today and he had to take a picture for his Dad. Tyson really wants a Camero...and as you can see, Jack does too.

Those Tummy Time sessions are really paying off! What a big boy!

A Lesson in Chivalry

Brooke and Mikkel went on a late Valentine's Day date, so we watched Molly for a couple hours. This was a great opportunity to give Jack a lesson in chivalry.
As you can see, he was quite the gentleman.

Most of the time...

New Computer

Shots of Jack - Annoyed

It must be rough being Jack. He surely gets annoyed by my camera, constantly in his face. He may not talk yet - but the pictures speak for themselves!

Nap Time = Cleaning Time

Jack took a NICE LONG nap this afternoon, which allowed me plenty of time to clean! (yay)
At one point, as I was vacuuming around him, he started to wake up. He cried a little, stretched, and then fell back asleep in this position. Despite the annoying noise around him, he couldn't be bothered to wake up.

Want Ad: Hoosier Valentine?!?

Wanted: A nice lady to call my Valentine.

I'm a good guy, looking for love. I enjoy long walks in my stroller and a good bottle of milk. If you're interested, call me. Because if you don't...
I might cry.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Tummy Time - FAIL

This morning I decided to put Jack on his tummy for some neck exercises. However, he thought it was nap time. As you can see - he didn't want to participate in my activity. Even a nudge from Tucker (a nice nudge) couldn't wake him up. Maybe tomorrow...when he's not soooo sleepy.

Shot of Jack

Jack had a lunch date with Molly and a new pal, Scott. He slept through the meal, the picture, and a trip to the mall.

Shot of Jack

Just waiting on Dad to get home from work.

Who you callin' CHUNKY?

Jack had his One Month Wellness check-up today. I am proud to announce that he is now tipping the scales at 9.4lbs and has grown 3 inches (21 inches). He is now in the 25% for both weight and height...and considering he was in the bottom 10% when he was born...we are VERY happy with his growth. The doctor was also happy and said he is PERFECT...(duh!)

Our old pal Virginia Slim was there today and she gave him his 2nd Hepatitis B shot. He barely whimpered - but then let me have it while I was getting him dressed. He has some serious pipes when he is mad!
Since I know he has some girlfriends who check his blog (as he checks theirs, as well) - we have censored this picture. I know he will appreciate it when he's 16.
There it is...9.4lbs of solid muscle. The funny thing is - Tyson and I made weight predictions last night. Tyson thought he would weigh 8.4lbs and I thought he'd weigh 8lbs. Oops! We were WAY off!

Happy Bath

I think I have a future swimmer on my hands!

Shot of Jack

We haven't had snow since the day before Jack was born (remember, it took the grandparents 7+ hours to get here?!?) Well, we hibernated inside today...but Jack ventured out for a quick photo in his snowsuit. We are expected to get 6-10 inches total - pretty weak by Michigan's standards.

He likes his snowsuit so much, he decided to take a nap in it! Doesn't he look cozy? Do these come in adult sizes?
