Home Again

We are back from a great, yet WAY too quick trip, to Florida. We had gorgeous weather and we ate some great food...which pretty much makes for a great vacation. We toured Sebring and visited some of the family favorites - a dive bar called The Blue Lagoon (as pictured yesterday) and of course, the favorite shopping location - WalMart (scary). Note to future Sebring visitors: DO NOT SHOP AT WALMART AFTER 8pm.

Mom and Dad are preparing for their journey back north. Mom was able to rest up and recover from her chemo treatments (they really took a toll on her legs). She was moving around a lot better in the Florida heat! She goes into surgery on November 16th - so she need all her strength for that. I'll keep you posted.

Our trip was plagued by extremely poor sleeping on Jack's part. It got progressively worse with each night we were there and I ended up apologizing to the neighbors in the condo above us. (yes, that bad!) All three of us were exhausted on the plane ride home. Anyone who has flown with an infant/child knows the FEAR you feel when your child starts to melt down on an airplane. Everyone around you cringes in preparation for a screaming baby. Jack had a minor melt down today. Luckily, it only lasted a couple minutes. Needless to say, he was in bed tonight at 7:40pm. He's a very tired traveler.

He was excited to return home to a box from one of his favorite stores - Von Maur! Seems his Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Denny did some shopping recently. They decided to help Jack out in the shoe department. We struggle to find shoes that fit his large, wide feet. He is now sporting TWO new pairs of Robeez. (Can't go wrong with elastic!) Tyson says these are his "walking shoes." I think he may be right! In the past few days - Jack has started walking around furniture and has even stood alone for a few seconds before falling to his rear.

So - THANK YOU Grandma Shirlee & Grandpa Jerry for a fun Florida vacation! And THANK YOU Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Denny for the new kicks!
