Today I took you in for your 6 month "wellness" visit. You were given the "all healthy" from Dr. R! You now weigh 16 lbs. 7oz. (45%), you are 26.5 in (50% - Yeah, Clevenger genes!), and your head is now 16.75 in (30%). You are active and healthy - and I thank God for that every single day.
I have good news and bad news for you. I'll start with the good news. Dr. R wants you to start eating 3 meals a day! I know you will be excited about this, as food is one of your favorite things and you feel like a "big boy" in your highchair. You have also been given the green light for water, juice, and Gerber puffs! Sweeeeeet!
Now for the bad news. You know those rendezvous you enjoy at 4:00 or 5:00 am? Those have to stop. I'm under strict orders to "let you cry it out." You are now only allowed to eat between 6:00-7:00 am. Sorry, buddy. Dr. R thinks you are "controlling" me...that you think we need to wake up for a snack (and some Truth or Dare). It can't happen anymore. Along with that, you can't snuggle with me in my bed. (I know, I'm sad about that one too!) Dr. R says we are "trying to break bad habits, not create new ones." I was also told to start "weaning you off the paci." (Don't kill the messenger.) Dr. R is hard core. She is strict (and you should be glad she isn't your mommy).
You are growing up so fast! Sometimes I think..."I wish he could..." but then I catch myself. And I remind myself that I can't "wish you" older than you are - because it will happen, faster than I'm ready. So for now, enjoy being my little baby boy. Enjoy learning, exploring, and laughing at your silly parents.
I love you,
